Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was born March 10 1949. She is an American investor as well as a speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she started. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran eventually left the company. Corcoran was one of the original Shark Tank investors. She has appeared on every season of ABC's Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts in February 2020. The biggest deal she signed was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was second child in a family of 10 children and was raised in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was a mover between jobs and another throughout Corcoran's youth. At times, the family depended on food delivery for free from a local, friendly grocery store. Corcoran claims that her father was a drunk who treated her mother with disrespectful and condescension. Corcoran was a struggle throughout her education, later learning that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her time at an Catholic primary school. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite having failed several classes during her first year.
